Obama, Dems redoubling money efforts to keep edge

(AP) ? His cash advantage threatened, President Barack Obama and his party are redoubling their fundraising efforts after robust hauls by Republican rival Mitt Romney and a slew of GOP-leaning super PACs that are raking in cash from the party faithful highly motivated to topple the Democrat.

Obama still has a significant edge, but it's shrinking rapidly.

That explains why the president, fresh off of back-to-back international summits, plunged back into his re-election race Wednesday with a series of fundraising events in Denver and California's Silicon Valley. The president was looking to stockpile cash to pay for his coast-to-coast organization, advertising to spread his message and get-out-the-vote operations in key states.

"We're going to have to contend with even more negative ads, even more cynicism and nastiness and just plain foolishness," Obama said in Denver. "But the outcome of the election is ultimately going to depend upon all of you." A woman shouted, "We'll just have to work harder."

It's the start of an extensive money push by Obama in the coming weeks that will feature a series of high-end fundraisers, including New York events with former President Bill Clinton and actress Sarah Jessica Parker and a Los Angeles trip to raise money among gay and lesbian supporters. Smaller-dollar pushes also are under way.

Obama, a record-shattering fundraiser four years ago, has a built-in fundraising advantage as the incumbent and still has a wide money lead over Romney, the challenger who only recently combined fundraising efforts with the Republican National Committee after a bruising ? and expensive ? primary.

But well-funded Republican outside groups, which are able to raise unlimited sums from donors, are narrowing that gap quickly and using their multimillions to run a slew of TV ads hammering Obama in key states. Obama aides acknowledge the possibility that he could be outraised by the influx of Republican money.

The numbers tell the story.

Through April, Obama and Democratic groups supporting his re-election bid have raised nearly $450 million during the election cycle and have more than $150 million in the bank. Romney and Republicans backing him have collected more than $400 million during the same stretch and have about $80 million at their disposal.

Gone is the 10-to-1 cash advantage that Obama held at the end of March.

To be sure, Romney was bound to erode that money gap as he pivoted to the general election. He still, however, lags on another measure of campaign strength: Obama has had months to prepare an extensive ground game to identify, register and turn out voters.

On the money front, Romney has benefited from a strong desire among GOP activists to defeat Obama, multiple GOP outside groups willing to spending tens of millions of dollars and a well-oiled fundraising machine within his own campaign. Showing that prowess, the former Massachusetts governor raised $15 million this week during three days of fundraising in New York.

"What you see in a very short period of time is a very well-run operation that is putting Gov. Romney in a position where he's going to, maybe not outspend, but to compete with the collective Democratic fundraising," said Sara Taylor Fagen, a former political director for President George W. Bush.

Romney has been the all-but-certain GOP nominee for more than a month now, and while he's focused primarily on fundraising, super PACs backing him have been going toe to toe with Obama's campaign in TV advertising. That means that Romney hasn't had to spend heavily from his own campaign account. Chief among those groups has been Crossroads GPS and its affiliated super PAC, Crossroads USA, which quickly matched Obama's ad buy this month after the president's team laid out plans for a $25 million advertising campaign.

Democrats haven't had as much success with super PACs.

A pro-Obama group, Priorities USA Action, has badly lagged behind Crossroads, while Romney has gotten extra help from another super PAC, Restore Our Future. Mary Beth Cahill, a former campaign manager for Sen. John Kerry, recently came aboard as an adviser to help.

The influx of campaign cash in the first presidential campaign since the 2010 Citizens United ruling by the Supreme Court, which helped create super PACs, has taken some Democrats by surprise.

"I don't think anyone realized going into this cycle exactly how much money was going to be involved," said former Rep. Martin Frost, D-Texas, a past chairman of the fundraising arm for House Democrats. "This is a brave new world of campaign finance."

Obama was cheered by 550 supporters in Denver, where tickets at a fundraiser started at $250 and topped out at $40,000 per couple for a photo with the president. Obama accused Romney of seeking to return to economic policies that preceded the recession. "It's the same old stuff they've been peddling for years," the president said.

Afterward in California, Obama spoke at a fundraising dinner in Atherton that included a performance by David Crosby and Graham Nash. About 60 people paid $35,800 per person to attend. The president said the nation had made significant strides during the past 3 1/2 years but said "we may not even finish it in 5 years but I certainly need 5 more years to get us locked in on where we need to go."

Obama capped the night at a reception with 1,100 people in Redwood City, with a performance by Ben Harper. Tickets started at $250, with some couples paying $12,500 for a photo with the president. On Thursday, Obama was speaking at a private fundraising breakfast in San Jose.

To keep his edge, Obama isn't just focusing on big money.

Many of the planned high-dollar fundraisers include a raffle designed to raise millions more and get more people involved.

In some cases, the grass-roots component raises more than the swanky fundraiser: Of the $15 million Obama raised at a celebrity-studded dinner two weeks ago at actor George Clooney's Los Angeles home, $9 million came from small-dollar donors hoping to win a chance to attend.

Clinton, arguably the most prominent Democratic fundraiser not in the White House, is joining Obama for two events in New York on June 4. Obama's campaign also is raffling off a trip to New York ? including airfare and hotel for what's being called "Barack on Broadway" ? for two winners and their guests to attend. The two presidents will attend a dinner later that evening featuring a performance by Jon Bon Jovi.

Two days later, Obama jets to Los Angeles for a high-dollar reception with gay and lesbian supporters, featuring a performance by Pink, and a $25,000-per person dinner at the Beverly Hills home of "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy and his fianc? David Miller. Events also are planned next month in Baltimore, Boston and back in New York, where the president will raise money at the home of Parker, of "Sex and the City" fame. A travel-package raffle for small-donors is tied to that, too.

"It should be fabulous," Parker said in an email to Obama supporters.

Obama began airing two new ads Wednesday, one about his work with veterans returning from wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and another aimed at seniors dependent on Medicare.

In the veterans spot, Obama credits veterans for allowing the U.S. to "go after al-Qaida and kill (Osama) bin Laden" and says the nation has a "sacred trust" to help veterans heal their wounds and find jobs. The ad on Medicare notes that Obama was raised by his grandparents and cites his administration's efforts to root out health care fraud.

The TV ads are part of the $25 million ad buy the Obama campaign launched in May, running in Colorado, Florida, North Carolina, Iowa, Nevada, Ohio and Virginia.

Romney spokeswoman Amanda Henneberg said Obama's team can't "distract voters from three years of broken promises on Medicare and our commitments to our veterans."

Home Depot encourages product sales via mobile ads - Advertising ...

Home Depot is continuing to prove that mobile advertising plays a critical role in its mobile commerce strategy with a new campaign that aims?to bolster sales for its?power tools and home appliances.

In addition to encouraging consumers to buy the products via Home Depot?s mobile site, the campaign also includes location and click-to-call features that help drive in-store traffic. The ads are running within Flixster?s iPhone application.

?The strategy is to reach consumers where they are as opposed to where they used to be. Traditionally, home improvement retailers would run their major promotions using printed circulars, but consumer media habits have changed dramatically in a very short period of time,? said Greg Hallinan, chief marketing officer at Verve Wireless, Encinitas, CA.

?In other words, consumers are on their devices while simultaneously engaged with other media, usually television ? this presents a great opportunity for retailers to move consumers further down the sales funnel, by either augmenting their other media spends or countering a competitor?s media spend,? he said.

?For example, it is not hard to imagine the scenario where a consumer views a Lowe?s advertisement on TV, say during a sporting event, while a Home Depot ad is presented on their mobile device that the consumer is using while watching the sporting event to pull stats, catch-up on the day?s news or play a game. Which one do you think the consumer takes action on??

Mr. Hallinan is not associated with Home Depot. He commented based on his expertise on the subject.

Home Depot did not respond to press inquiries.

Mobile improvement
The Home Depot ads include two separate pieces of creative ? one for power tools and one for kitchen appliances.

For example, the ad that promotes kitchen appliances reads, ?Power up with the appliance you?ve been eyeing.?

The creative for the ads are smart because although consumers might not be willing to make a spontaneous decision to buy a new appliance on the spot, the campaign is aimed at consumers who already know what they are looking for.

Unlike many mobile advertising campaigns, there is a clear demographic that Home Depot is honing in on with the initiative.

Once users tap on the ad, they are taken to Home Depot?s mobile site that is filtered to only include the type of product advertised.

Consumers can then browse through categories or type in keywords if they are looking for something specific.

The ad shows filtered results

Users can then add products to their shopping carts and check-out while still in the ad.

Consumers are buying appliances via their devices

Additionally, users can find the nearest Home Depot store by using their device?s location or contact the company directly with a click-to-call feature.

Giving consumers the option to find the nearest location is especially important for a retailer such as Home Depot that has higher-ticket items.

Multichannel retailer
Home Depot has had a strong year in mobile so far.

In January, the company became the first national retailer to pilot PayPal?s mobile wallet service.

Using Paypal?s point-of-sale service, consumers can can either type in their phone number that is tied with a carrier?s account or pay with a PayPal-issued credit card. (see story).

Additionally, Home Depot also recently used a tablet-first strategy with a design lookbook iPad app that lets users find inspiration and shop for items in their homes (see story).

Each of Home Depot?s advertising campaigns are tailored for a specific promotion or demographic, which makes users more inclined to tap on the ad.

For example, around the holidays the company used a time-sensitive campaign to promote special prices on tools.

?Providing options to complete the transaction on the terms defined by the consumer is both considerate of the time-constrained consumer and helps mitigate some of the showrooming effect that retailers are experiencing in-store ? it is just good business,? Mr. Hallinan said.

?Consumers are mobile and demanding that retailers either meet them in their mobile world or risk losing their business to someone who does,? he said.

Final Take

World News - NATO summit prompts little buzz on streets of Kabul

Rahmat Gul / AP

A street vendor carries bread in the Afghan capital Kabul on Saturday.

By Atia Abawi, NBC News

KABUL, Afghanistan -- There isn?t much of a buzz about NATO?s summit on the streets of the Afghan capital Kabul, at least not outside government agency walls.? The majority of citizens continue to focus on earning a few dollars a day to survive in a country tormented by war since 1979.

The NATO gathering in Chicago is expected to draw up an exit strategy and finalize a financial commitment to Afghan Security Forces (ANSF), as the foreign combat mission comes to an end in a couple of years.? The Afghan government is asking the international community to commit $4.1 billion a year to keep their security operations running.?

Friday after prayers at a mosque in the center of the city, most of the men did not even know what the summit in Chicago was about or even Afghanistan?s role in it.

Afghanistan: Nation at a crossroads

Others used it as an opportunity to raise their frustrations about U.S. and international involvement in Afghanistan.

?They haven?t achieved anything in the last 10 years!? Mullah Khaista Gul said.? ?They should learn lessons from the past.? We have seen conferences in the past, in London, Germany and Afghanistan, but none of them benefited ordinary Afghans.?

Obama, NATO leaders chart path out of Afghanistan

Some, although unaware of the purpose of this summit, know that it involves more financial aid and hope it can in some way benefit Afghanistan.

?The international community should not leave Afghanistan alone,? Khalil Khan, a 29-year-old pharmacist, said.? ?The Chicago conference is a hopeful gathering and the international community and Afghans should really think about a good future for all of us.? They should hand their money and responsibility to good people who can be trusted, not warlords.?

Raz Mohammad, 27, who works with a trucking company, was the only one we spoke to who understood what the Chicago meetings on Afghanistan would be about -- the funding of Afghan security forces.

Sixty heads of state gathered in Chicago for a two-day NATO summit to discuss funding and implementing long-term security for Afghanistan. NBC's Chuck Todd report.

Mohammad said he thinks that the international community should continue to support the security forces if they want to make sure Afghanistan doesn't fall into Taliban hands again.? He said that too many mistakes have been made in the past and that they need to be resolved quickly and correctly.

Report: Taliban, Afghan troops forge agreements

?In Nuristan province last year, the police didn?t receive their salaries for four or five months.? Many of them got fed up and angry then decided to join the Taliban,? Mohammad said.

But he also believes that there are more problems than just financial and he said more needs to be done to stop the high attrition rates within the security forces.?

President Barack Obama welcomes foreign leaders to the NATO summit in Chicago, Illinois. NBC's Kristen Welker reports on the thousands of protesters ascending in the downtown area.

?I have also seen many people join the army or police for six months, make some money and go back to use that money to help grow their crops,? he said.? ?It?s important that this be discussed in Chicago and see how they can fix it.?

As world leaders gather at the NATO summit in Chicago, most Afghans don?t know how it will affect their future.? But there are some who still hold on to the hope that those leaders will make the right decisions to benefit Afghanistan.

Long Distance Relationship Advice | Vin DiCarlo

Long Distance Relationship Advice

So maybe there are certain limitations to what you can do with a computer - but if ever there was a time to be close to each other with thousands of miles apart, now is it!

Long distance relationships are such a controversial topic that when we received this e-mail question, we thought we just had to publish the answer for everyone to see.

"Dear Vin,

I'm going to be moving quite far away within a couple of weeks. So far in fact, that visiting each other on a regular basis would be prohibitively expensive. Maybe once or twice a year at most.

Should I just break up with her here and now and save us both a lot of suffering, or is there hope that our relationship could survive this ordeal and - just maybe - come out stronger than it ever was? I'm willing to try long-distance relationships, but quite frankly I have no idea what it would entail, nor do I know what the chances of success are...

Thanks for any help!

Adrian from New York"

Adrian, you're not the only guy out there facing this problem. Sometimes our education or professional lives take us far away from the people we care about. Other times, we're wondering whether meeting people online who live in other countries is worth it, with a faint hope in the back of our mind that maybe we'll get to meet them one day.

There used to be a time when the only means of long-distance communication was through old-fashioned snail mail. But with current technology, you can both hear and see the other person as if they were right next to you. If ever there was a time when a long-distance relationship was most likely to succeed - now would be it!

I've been where you are - and it can work!

Speaking from personal experience, I once found myself in a similar situation, even though I never thought I would. I cared quite a lot about the other person, and I wanted to give it a go. Good thing too! Because it turned out to be one of the most mutually beneficial and successful relationships that I've ever had.

But, like most ventures, in order for your long-distance relationship to have any chance of success, you need to have both realistic expectations and a good plan. If you know you'll only be able to fly out to see each other a couple of times a year, don't tell each other you'll be able to do it every month.

Communication is the key to success

As for planning, you need to prepare how you're going to communicate with each other. Just a decade ago, an international call of any significant length would have cost a fortune. Nowadays, you can use Skype or many other services for free, and you get to see the other person too!

You should also think about what you're going to be sacrificing. It's possible that by being in a committed relationship with someone that far away, you'll be missing out on opportunities nearby.

Make those few moments together really count!

Although in my particular situation I was able to connect with my girlfriend and see her either every weekend or every second weekend, I strongly believe that the key to my success was my ability to give her 100% of my attention whenever we were together.

Even though at the time I had an incredibly busy lifestyle due to the business goals that I was working towards, by giving my complete attention to her those few days that we were together - I made them really special and memorable.

When we were together, I would completely switch off my phone, switch off the TV, and just focus on putting a whole week?s worth of love into my girlfriend.

Because I was so focused on the positives of the relationship, I never had to deal with the negatives! In fact, in some way, the short bursts of being together prevented us from experiencing some of the boredom other couples might have when they spend every day together.

There were never any fights, there were never any arguments, there was never a boring moment. So there is definitely potential for long term relationships to work, but there's also a danger!

Make sure you do it for the right reasons

Probably the best bit of advice on dealing with long distance relationships that I can give is to question your motivation. Sticking with a long term relationship just because you don?t want to hurt the girl, or because you're not ready to handle a breakup, is the completely wrong reason. Perhaps consider a scenario in which you can sustain your relationship, but you also give each other the flexibility of being able to see other people.

So I think the next step for you is to sit down with your girlfriend and get a really clear idea about what it is that she actually wants, about what you want, and then seeing if you guys can find some common ground.

I believe that understanding women and the way they think is of paramount importance when it comes to any kind of relationship, long distance or otherwise. As a result, we've devised a guide based on scientific methodology, to help you understand the mind of women, the female psychology, and how to get the results you want from your dating life. It took us a while, but it's finally ready - Pandora's Box!

Thousands gather for world's largest solar eclipse party

Even a partial eclipse was enough to draw a crowd of thousands to Folsom Field to see the moon take a bite from the sun.

Observers gaze up at the annular solar eclipse on May 20, 2012 at a special event held at the University of Colorado's Folsom Field football stadium in Boulder, Colo.

Thousands of people turned their eyes to the sky at the University of Colorado's Folsom Field football stadium here Sunday (May 20) to watch the moon slip in front of the sun to create a spectacular "crescent sun."

The partial eclipse in Colorado occurred during a rare?annular solar eclipse, in which the moon passed in front of ? but did not completely obscure ? the sun. In parts of China, Japan and eight western states, the celestial show created a dazzling "ring of fire" effect, while wide swathes of the U.S., including Colorado, saw a partial solar eclipse.

But even a partial eclipse was enough to draw a crowd of thousands to Folsom Field to see the moon take a bite from the sun. The organizers had billed the event as the?world's largest solar eclipse viewing party.

At times, clouds periodically obscured the eclipsed sun, eliciting boos from the crowd. But when the clouds parted at 7:13 p.m. MDT (9:13 p.m. EDT/0113 GMT) several minutes before the maximum eclipse, it left some in the stadium speechless. [First Photos of May 20 Solar Eclipse]

"I can't think of words," said Bryce Pantoja, 15, who came with his family from the nearby city of Castle Rock to view the solar eclipse.

Astronomer Douglas Duncan, the director of the Fiske Planetarium at the University of Colorado, Boulder, arranged the eclipse-viewing event, mobilizing thousands of specialized solar-viewing glasses for the occasion. About 50,000 pairs ofsolar eclipse glasses?were sold or given to schoolchildren in the days before the event, Duncan told SPACE.com.

France's Hollande gets stormy welcome to power

PARIS (Reuters) - Francois Hollande was greeted by a thunderstorm in Paris and storm clouds gathering over the euro zone as France's first Socialist president in 17 years was sworn in on Tuesday before flying to Berlin to plead his case for less austerity in Europe.

Hollande's first day in power was marred by a downpour as he rode by open-top car through Paris to mark his investiture, and lightning that hit his presidential jet, forcing him to make a U-turn en route to Germany and switch to a smaller Falcon jet.

After a handover with predecessor Nicolas Sarkozy, Hollande began his five-year term with a bang, naming a new German-savvy prime minister in addition to swearing-in ceremonies before rushing off to meet German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

In his inaugural speech to some 400 guests at the Elysee presidential Palace, the 57-year-old Hollande said he would try to temper the German-inspired austerity focus of a European pact on deficit-reduction by securing commitments to measures that could boost economic growth.

"I'll say what I think. The situation is serious," he said. "We have to find solutions together so that austerity does not become our only fate, so that growth returns and so that we can find solidarity over the concerns we have over Greece."

In a veiled swipe at Sarkozy, who some faulted for being too controlling and too impulsive, Hollande said he would run a "dignified", "simple" and "sober" presidency and ensure parliament played its full role.

"I will set the priorities but I will not decide for everyone, on everything and (be) everywhere," Hollande said.

Sarkozy and his wife, singer and former model Carla Bruni, left the Elysee Palace under a bright sky but rain poured down when the new president left for the traditional inauguration drive in an open-topped car.

Soaked to the skin, Hollande grinned at bystanders as his car crawled up the Champs Elysees avenue to the Arc du Triomphe, where he relit the flame at the memorial of the Unknown Soldier and laid a wreath.

He changed suits and ate lunch before making a number of other sorties to mark the day, paying tribute to a politician who introduced free, secular education in the 19th century and to physicist Marie Curie who twice won a Nobel prize.

His meeting with Merkel was delayed after lightning forced him to go back to Paris and board a different jet for Berlin, according to French officials.

The rest of the government should be unveiled on Wednesday, before a first cabinet meeting on Thursday, and before Hollande flies to Washington to meet President Barack Obama and attend G8 and NATO summits at Camp David and Chicago.

Hollande, whose election comes as the euro zone is teetering back into crisis over fears about Greece's future in the single currency, will give his first presidential news conference in Berlin in the evening, flanked by Merkel.

His comments will be keenly watched by financial markets eager for reassurance that his push to tack pro-growth policies onto Europe's budget discipline treaty will not sour the start of his relationship with Merkel.

"To overcome the crisis Europe needs projects, solidarity and growth," he said in his inaugural speech. "I will propose to our partners a new pact to combine the necessary reduction in public debt with essential economic stimulus."

He also said he would press the need for Europe to protect its interests, especially regarding reciprocity in trade.

RAIN AND LIGHTNING

Any indications on initial economic policy will be scrutinized both outside France and inside, where frustration over rampant unemployment and a sickly economy were key factors behind conservative Nicolas Sarkozy's defeat.

For prime minister, he named former German teacher Jean-Marc Ayrault, a 62-year-old who has held elected public office since the mid-1970s, been a member of parliament since 1986 and met advisers to Germany's Merkel last year in an Endeavour to build ties with her conservative government.

Hollande named as chief of staff Pierre-Rene Lemas, whom he has known since they attended the ENA civil service academy at the end of the 1970s. Lemas's deputy will be Emmanuel Macron, an investment banker in his 30s who will be an economic adviser.

Hollande was officially sworn in a president just before 11 a.m. (0900 GMT) after Sarkozy greeted him on the steps of the Elysee and took him inside to hand over the country's nuclear codes and other secret dossiers.

Anxious not to lose the "Mr Normal" image that appealed to voters tired of his showman predecessor, Hollande had asked for the inauguration ceremony to be kept as low-key as possible.

He invited just three dozen or so personal guests to join some 350 officials at the event and neither his nor his partner Valerie Trierweiler's children attended the ceremony.

Still, the man who until recently went to work on a scooter was presented with the official chain of office, a gold collar weighing nearly a kilograms and engraved with his name and the names of the six previous presidents of the Fifth Republic.

After his rainsoaked victory lap, a sodden Hollande walked back up the red-carpeted Elysee steps to eat his first lunch as president with a group of former Socialist prime ministers.

When a Reuters reporter in the courtyard called out: "You are not afraid of the rain Mr. Hollande?", he laughed and replied: "I am not afraid of anything."

Witness a brain surgery as it happens live on Twitter

Back in February, doctors from the?Memorial Hermann Medical Center in Texas tweeted a?blow-by-blow account of a double bypass operation. Today, doctors from the neuroscience division of the same hospital are live?tweeting a brain surgery on a 21-year-old woman in an effort to raise awareness about brain tumors.

The operation headed by the chief of neurosurgery and director of the Mischer Neuroscience Institute at Memorial Hermann,?Dr. Dong Kim, will remove a?cavernous angioma tumor from the young woman's head. Preparations for the surgery, which you can watch in the video above, began at 8:30 a.m. Eastern. The whole procedure will last for four hours, with the team tweeting events as they happen, along with pictures and even videos taken right within the operating room (OR).

Roughly 190,000 people per year are diagnosed with brain tumors in the United States alone. According to Dr. Kim, the reason why they're live tweeting the surgery is to "educate the general public about brain tumors and take them into the OR to see what happens during a brain surgery.?Someone may have a loved one who is considering a similar procedure and perhaps they can glean some information from this Twittercast that may help them make a decision about whether surgery is the right choice for them."

To follow the live surgery on Twitter, add the Memorial Hermann team's?@houstonhospital account or check out the hashtag?#MHbrain.

The Five Things You Must Know Before Buying Boat Insurance ...

You are here: Home / Watercraft / The Five Things You Must Know Before Buying Boat Insurance

The 5 Things You Should Know Earlier than Shopping for Boat Insurance coverage

When you own a boat, you definitely want watercraft coverage.

Too often, individuals don?t realize that they want coverage for his or her boats. Some do not even notice that boat protection is available. Many know it is available, they usually give it some thought ? they simply decide that such a coverage is not one thing that they need. Most often, they are mistaken! You do want boat insurance coverage, and it?s worthwhile to know what you are on the lookout for once you begin searching for the coverage.

Listed below are five things you should know before buying boat insurance.

1. Many states now require you to hold watercraft legal responsibility coverage.

This protection will should shield you towards any harm that you just do to other people or different individuals?s property together with your boat. The insurance coverage should also cowl you for losses as a consequence of theft, vandalism, storms, hearth, capsizing, stranding, sinking, explosion, and collision. Name your insurance agent to seek out out what your state requires, and what their boat insurance coverage insurance policies cover.

2. There?s optional protection that you should strongly consider.

Wreckage Removing coverage is one type of protection that you need to consider. In most locations, elimination of sunken or wrecked vessels is obligatory, and it is the duty of the owner to pay for this removing ? which will be fairly expensive. This optionally available coverage will cowl these costs. You should also strongly consider protection that may pay for repairs and mechanical failure, in addition to protection that will pay towing charges ought to you might want to be towed back to shore.
